This Privacy Policy explains what information BottleNeck Calculator ("we," "us," or "the site") collects when you use realpcbottleneckcalculator.com, and how it's used. We built this site to run almost entirely in your browser, so there isn't much to collect in the first place.

Information We Don't Collect

BottleNeck Calculator does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any personal information, and does not have a server-side database that stores your CPU/GPU selections. The bottleneck calculation runs entirely client-side, in your browser — your selections are never transmitted to us.

Local Storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember a single preference: whether you've chosen light or dark theme. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us or any third party, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's site settings.

Shareable Links

When you use the "Copy shareable link" feature, your selected CPU, GPU, use case, and resolution are encoded directly into the URL itself (as query parameters) so the result can be reproduced by anyone who opens that link. This information lives only in the URL you choose to share — we don't store or log it on our end.

Third-Party Services

This site loads web fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono) from Google Fonts. Loading a font involves your browser making a request to Google's servers, which may log standard request data (such as your IP address) according to Google's own privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics (Google's gtag.js) to understand aggregate traffic to this site — for example, how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what device or browser they're using. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to distinguish visitors and collects information such as your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. We don't use this data to identify you personally, and we don't combine it with any other information. We don't currently run any advertising scripts on this site. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Cookies

We do not set our own cookies directly. Google Analytics, described above, may set cookies in your browser to help distinguish visitors between sessions; any other cookies you encounter would come from a third-party service described on this page, subject to that service's own policy.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that we don't collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add analytics or other third-party services in the future. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
